This was the advert placed by Sir Ernest Shackleton, British explorer that aimed to cross Antarctica, something that had never been done at the time. The year was 1914, and with this blunt advert which warned applicants of what they would have to face while emphasising the possible gains, began one of the most exciting adventures of the XX century This adventure involved an extraordinary leader and his 28-men crew. But even more incredible than that were the 5,000 applications to take part in one of the most epic journeys in memory, which even today is studied and discussed at leadership courses.
